THE MAJOR IQBAL RETURNS AT HEAVYWEIGHT AIMS TO DO IT IN DEVASTATING FASHION

After a 4½ year break from the sport former English Cruiserweight champion “The Major” Arfan Iqbal returns stepping up to Heavyweight.

Iqbal has had a stellar 14 fight career winning the English title with a 4th rounds stoppage win over Wadi Camacho before drawing with Simon Vallily in his first defence live on Sky Sports.

Iqbal then boxed a rematch with Camacho for the Commonwealth Cruiserweight title in November 2018 and came up short in a bruising battle.

Still only 31 years of age and with the fire rekindled, Iqbal wants to gate-crash the Heavyweight scene. The former sparring partner of Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte has mixed it with the top heavyweights in the gym now wants to take this to the ring.

“I always felt drained at Cruiserweight” said Iqbal and “I want to now box without having to weight drain.”

Iqbal is always in an exciting fight and will take on Jake Darnell who has only been stopped 3 times in 14 outings. Darnell has gone the distance with top prospect Tommy Welch and only stoppages have come at the hands of Olympian Fraser Clarke, Sky’s Jamie TKV and British title challenger David Jamieson.

It will be a test of Iqbal’s power at heavyweight but one thing is for sure DO NOT BLINK when this fight is on.

This fight is part of the most competitive small hall card seen in the UK for many years with four 50/50 title fights and a 50/50 Cruiserweight four rounder.

Not only that we see the return to boxing of Channel 4’s winner in SAS Who Dares wins Joshua Gustave (3-0) and much more.
